Lichess is free, open-source and genuinely excellent — if you're happy assembling a workflow from its analysis and Insights tools, use it. ChessMend packages the whole loop: it finds the moves that cost you the game and drills them back until they stick, spots which openings need attention, and coaches your repertoire past the point where your own prep runs out — all on your own machine, with no subscription required. Comparison reflects publicly advertised features as of July 2026; other tools' pricing changes often.
